Originally released in 1992, and designed by design legends Tinker Hatfield and Eric Avar, the Nike Air Flight Huarache is one of the brand’s most venerated and well-received silhouettes. The sneaker is typically associated with Michigan’ s “Fab 5” back in the day, but were also seen on the feet of thhe late, great Kobe Bryant in Lakers colours.
Last seen in 2014, another retail run is planned in 2023, according to reporting from Riley Jones of Complex. The only confirmed colourway is the original White /Varsity Purple-Royal Blue-Menta.
Taking the idea of their huarache runner and bringing to the basketball court, it sports a varsity purple and blue neoprene inner bootie underneath white leather, a molded rubber heel cage and nubuck collar. Underneath resides a white midsole that houses a Nike Air unit and a white-bordered blue and purple rubber outsole.
The Air flight huarache is planned to begin its fourth retail run (previous returns were in 2003 and 2014) in April 2023 at nike.com and select retail venues. They will carry a 125 USD sticker price.
